Student Notifications
Nimbu keeps you informed throughout your training by sending notifications when something requires your attention or when an update is available on your work. Notifications are delivered both within the platform and to your registered email address. This article explains the types of notifications you will receive, where to find them, and how to manage your notification preferences.
What's Covered in This Article
This article explains how the Nimbu notification system works for students, including where to find notifications and how to control which ones you receive.
- Accessing Your Notifications: Where to find in-app alerts and how to navigate the notification panel.
- Notification Types: A complete reference of all notifications you may receive.
- Managing Notification Settings: How to turn individual notifications on or off.
Accessing Your Notifications
In-App Notification Panel
The bell icon in the top-right corner of the screen is your notification centre. A red dot on the icon indicates you have unread notifications.
Clicking the bell icon opens a slide-out panel with two tabs:
- All : Every notification you have received, with a total count shown in the tab label.
- Unread : Only notifications you have not yet viewed, with the unread count shown.
- Mark all as read : Clears the unread indicator from all notifications at once.
Notifications are grouped by date — for example, Today and Earlier. Each entry shows the notification title, a brief summary message, and a timestamp. Some notifications include a shortcut button (such as Go to Unit or Go to Class) that takes you directly to the relevant item.
Email Notifications
Many notifications are also sent to your registered email address. Whether a notification is delivered by email depends on your individual notification settings, see Managing Notification Settings below.
Notification Types
Nimbu groups student notifications into three categories. The table below lists each notification as it appears in your settings, along with its description and default on/off state.
Class
| Notification | Description | In-App | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Class Enrolment | Notify me about my class enrolment. | On | On |
Unit
| Notification | Description | In-App | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Unit Status | Notify me when a unit is reset or becomes inaccessible. | On | Off |
| Unit Result | Notify me about upcoming and accepted final results. | On | On |
Content and Activities
| Notification | Description | In-App | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Submission Status | Notify me when there are new updates on the status of my activity submissions. | On | On |
| Resubmission Request | Notify me when an activity requires resubmission. | On | Off |
| Activity Availability | Notify me about activity timing (open time, read-only, due time) and availability updates. | On | Off |
| Activity Result | Notify me when activity results are available. | On | On |
General Settings
| Notification | Description | In-App | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Password Updated | Notify me when my password has been changed. | On | Off |
Tip: It is recommended to keep Resubmission Request and Activity Availability email notifications enabled so you do not miss important updates from your trainer, even though they are off by default.
