Student Dashboard

The Student Dashboard is the first screen you see after logging in to Nimbu. It gives you a real-time snapshot of your learning which is showing your active classes, progress across units, upcoming tasks, and any courses available for you to join. Everything you need to continue your training is accessible from this single starting point.

What's Covered in This Article

This article explains each section of the Student Dashboard so you can orient yourself quickly, understand what your progress indicators mean, and know where to go to continue your training.

Active Classes and Courses

The main section of your dashboard displays all the classes you are currently enrolled in. Each class card shows:

  • Course name: The qualification or program you are studying.
  • Class name: The specific cohort or intake you have been enrolled in.
  • Trainer name: The primary trainer assigned to your class.
  • Overall progress: A visual indicator of how far through the course you are.

To enter a class, click its card. You will be taken to the unit list for that class, where you can access your learning resources and activities.

Note: If you are enrolled in multiple classes across different courses, all of them appear here. Use the course or class name to navigate to the correct one.

Progress Indicators

Nimbu uses a consistent set of status labels to show where you stand across your units and activities. You will see these throughout your dashboard and within each unit.

Unit Enrolment Statuses

Status What It Means
IA: Inactive You have not yet started this unit.
IP: In Progress You are currently working through this unit.
AR: Awaiting Result You have completed all required content. The trainer is reviewing your unit result.
C: Competent You have successfully completed the unit.
NC: Not Competent You did not meet the required standard for this unit.

Activity Statuses

Status What It Means
Locked This content is not yet available. A prerequisite item must be completed first, or the activity has not been activated by your trainer.
Ready This content is available and ready for you to start.
In Progress You have started but not yet submitted this activity.
TBM: To Be Marked You have submitted this activity and it is waiting for your trainer to mark it.
S: Satisfactory Your trainer has marked this activity as satisfactory.
NS: Not Satisfactory Your trainer has marked this activity as not satisfactory. You may be asked to resubmit.

Tip: If a unit shows AR status, your work is done and your trainer is reviewing your result. You do not need to take any further action unless your trainer contacts you.

If your RTO has enabled Online Registration, a Recommended Courses section may appear on your dashboard. This section displays courses that are publicly available for self-enrolment.

From here you can:

  • Browse available courses and view their details.
  • Click Register or Enrol to join a course directly.
  • Complete any required payment steps if the course has a fee attached.

Once you register, the new class will appear in your Active Classes section and you can begin learning straight away.

Note: The Recommended Courses section is only visible if your RTO has enabled the Course Catalog feature. If you do not see it, this feature has not been activated for your organisation. Contact your RTO administrator for information about available courses.

Keep Learning Section

The Keep Learning section surfaces the most relevant tasks and activities you should focus on next. It is designed to help you stay on track without having to dig through each unit manually.

This section may display:

  • Assessments or observations that have been activated by your trainer and are ready for you to start.
  • Activities with upcoming due dates that require your attention soon.
  • Resubmission requests where your trainer has asked you to revise and resubmit your work.
  • Learning resources with required completion that you have not yet finished.

Click any item in this section to go directly to that activity or resource within its unit.

Tip: Check the Keep Learning section each time you log in to ensure you do not miss deadlines or overlook newly activated content.

Archived Classes

Classes that have ended or where your enrolment has been completed are moved to the Archived section of your dashboard. These are no longer active but remain accessible so you can review your results, download certificates, or refer back to learning materials.

To access your archived classes:

  1. Scroll to the bottom of your dashboard, or look for an Archived or Past Classes link.
  2. Click to expand the archived section.
  3. Select the class you want to review.

Note: Archived classes are read-only. You cannot submit new work or interact with activities in an archived class. If you believe a class has been archived in error, contact your RTO administrator.
