AVETMISS Settings
The AVETMISS Data dashboard is your central hub for generating and managing statistical reports. This area allows you to extract specific training data: down to the student, class, or course level, ensuring your organisation meets national reporting requirements.
By using this dashboard, you can maintain a verifiable audit trail of all data submissions, from initial generation to final download.
What's Covered in This Article
This article explains how to configure and manage AVETMISS exports from the AVETMISS Data page:
- Report Summary: Configuring the parameters for a new export.
- Recent Exports: Reviewing and re-downloading previous exports.
Who can do this: Administrators with AVETMISS export permissions can access the AVETMISS Data page.
Report Summary
The Report Summary panel is where you configure the parameters for a new export before clicking Export.
Date Range
Click the Date range field (labelled Select period) to open the calendar picker and select a start and end date for the reporting period. Once selected, the range displays in the field (e.g., 01/01/2026 - 03/02/2026).
The date range is required. Choose dates that match your STA's reporting period, for example, a calendar year (1 January to 31 December) or a financial year (1 July to 30 June).
Export One Row Per Unit
The Export one row per unit toggle controls how unit data is structured in the exported file.
| Toggle State | Export Format |
|---|---|
| Off (default) | All units for a student enrolment are combined onto a single row. |
| On | Each unit for a student enrolment is exported on its own separate row. |
Turn this toggle on when you need unit-level outcome data reported individually — this is typically required for formal AVETMISS submissions where each unit outcome must appear as a separate record.
Filters
Three optional filters allow you to narrow the export to specific records. All filters can be applied individually or in combination. Leave a filter empty to include all matching records within the selected date range.
- Course: Select a course to limit the export to enrolments within that course. Click the × to clear the selection.
- Class: Select a class to limit the export to enrolments within that class. Click the × to clear the selection.
- Student: Select a student to limit the export to that student's records only. Click the × to clear the selection.
Exporting
Once you have configured the date range, export mode, and any filters, click the red Export button. Because AVETMISS data sets can be large, Nimbu processes the export in the background rather than immediately.
- You do not need to remain on the page while the file is being prepared.
- Nimbu will send you an email notification and an in-app notification once the export is ready for download.
- While the file is being prepared, the export will appear in the Recent Exports table with an Exporting status.
Recent Exports
The Recent Exports table below the Report Summary panel provides a full log of every export generated by your organisation. Use this table to track previous exports and re-download files without needing to reconfigure and re-run the report.
Each row in the table shows:
| Column | What It Shows |
|---|---|
| Date | The date and time the export was generated. |
| Name | The name of the user who generated the export. |
| The email address of the user who generated the export. | |
| Download | A Download button to download the completed CSV file. |
Once an export is complete, the Download button becomes active. All files are delivered as CSV, which can be opened in spreadsheet software such as Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets for review and validation before submission.
