Registering, Joining and viewing a Webinar

Webinars in Nimbu are live online sessions run by your trainer. Some webinars are part of a class you are already in. Others are standalone sessions you can sign up for yourself. You find, register for, and join all of them from the same place: inside Nimbu on your Dashboard or inside your class.

What's covered in this article:

Registering for a Standalone Webinar

You only need to register if it is a standalone webinar and your trainer has turned on Online Registration. If the webinar is already part of a class you are enrolled in, you are signed up automatically and can skip straight to the next section.

How to register:

  1. Open the Course Catalog from your Dashboard, or open the direct registration link your trainer has shared with you.
  2. Find the webinar. You will see the title, the date and time, the trainer's name, and the price. The price may be Free, a one-off fee, or included in a subscription.
  3. Click Register.
  4. If the trainer has set a price, follow the payment prompts on screen.
  5. If the webinar is password-protected, enter the password when asked.

What to expect: Once you register, the webinar appears on your Dashboard under Upcoming Content and in Complete Your Courses. You are all set.

Where to Find Your Webinars

Once you are registered (or once your trainer has added a webinar to your class), you can find your webinars in two places.

On your Dashboard:

  • Upcoming Content: Lists both standalone webinars and webinars from your classes. Each one shows the date, the start time, and a badge so you know whether it is a Zoom session or a Webinar.
  • Complete Your Courses: Standalone webinars appear here with their session details so you can jump back in whenever you need to.

Inside a class:

  • Open the class from your Dashboard.
  • In the Webinars section of the class, you will see every webinar your trainer has added, along with the timing and type badges.

Joining a Webinar on the Day

You can join a webinar up to 30 minutes before the scheduled start time. The Join button is hidden before that, so do not worry if you cannot see it yet.

How to join a Zoom webinar:

  1. On your Dashboard or inside your class, find the webinar and click it.
  2. On the webinar page, click Join Now (or Join Webinar) in the top right.
  3. Zoom will open in a new window or tab. Follow the Zoom prompts to enter the session.

How to join an Embed External webinar (Google Meet, Microsoft Teams, or similar):

  1. Open the webinar from your Dashboard or class.
  2. Click Open Webinar Link in the top right.
  3. The third-party meeting tool will open. Join using that tool's own prompts.

Note: If you do not see a Join button yet, check the scheduled start time. The button becomes active 30 minutes before the session begins.

Viewing Supporting Documents and Resources

The webinar page is also where you will find anything your trainer has attached to the session.

  • Description: A short summary of what the session covers, written by your trainer.
  • Support Documents: Reference files your trainer has shared with you. You can open or download these at any time, before or after the webinar.
  • Resources: Learning materials such as guides or pre-reading attached to the webinar for you to work through.

Take a moment to open these before the session starts so you know what to expect.

What to Do If Something Does Not Look Right

  • The Join button is not showing: The session has not opened for joining yet. The button becomes active 30 minutes before the scheduled start time.
  • The time on the invite looks wrong: Check that the timezone shown on the webinar page matches yours. If it still looks off, reach out to your trainer so they can confirm.
  • You cannot see a webinar you expected: If the webinar was part of a class, check with your trainer that you are enrolled in that class. If it was a standalone webinar, confirm your registration completed: it should appear under Complete Your Courses on your Dashboard.

You are all set. You now know how to register for a standalone webinar, find every session on your Dashboard or in your class, join on the day using the Join button, open supporting documents and resources, and mark a session as complete if your trainer has asked you to.
