How To Add/Edit Pre Course Material And Configure Your Default Pre Course Setting


Within our LMS, adding/editing a pre-course material and setting it as the default option can be done with just a handful of steps that requires little to no effort. 


This feature is extremely convenient and time-saving for an Organisation or RTO that consistently uses the same pre-course material for multiple courses. With a default pre course material in place, the system will automatically load the same material whenever you create a course. Yet, the option to change the material and even disable the entire feature will remain available should you choose to do so.

Steps to follow for adding/editing pre course material.

Step 1 - Sign in to your Nimbu account.


Step 2 - Click on the Content option from the sidebar of your dashboard to access a drop-down menu.


Step 3 -  From the drop-down menu, select Pre Training, and it will take you to the page where you can create your pre course material.

Step 4 - Click the Add button in the top right corner of the page.

Step 5 - Click the Pre Course Material option from the right side of the header. 

Step 6 - Add the content title (Default Pre Course) and description of the material in their designated places. 

Step 7 - To add more material, click the Add Item button at the bottom of the list and then upload a file from your computer.

Step 8 - To edit one of the default material options, such as "the student handbook," click the pen icon to the right of screen and then click the "browse files on your computer" option.

Step 9 - Select a file of your choosing from your computer and click the Open button to upload it to the system.

Step 10 - To capture your students' agreement for your uploaded material, switch on the toggle button below the delete button and write your agreement declaration within the designated area.


You can make the agreement mandatory for your students by clicking the small box beside "Agreement is mandatory."

Step 11 - To edit more default materials, such as "the course guide" and "the complaints policy," follow the same instruction, i.e. 


Click the pen icon > Click browse files on your computer > Choose a file from the computer > Click Open.


Step 12 - To remove one of the default material options, such as "the privacy policy," click the pen icon on its right and then click the delete button on the right side of your selected material.

Step 13 - To publish your pre course material, click the Publish button in the top right corner of the page and then press OK to confirm.

Steps to follow for configuring your default Pre Course setting.

Step 1 - From your dashboard, at the bottom of the left sidebar, click on the settings icon to display a pop-up menu.


Step 2 -  Click on the Setting option from the pop-up menu.

Step 3 - Click on RTO Settings in the left side panel. It will take you to the settings page.

Step 4 - On the setting page, switch on the toggle button beside Pre Course Material.


Step 5 - Click the blank space below Pre Course Material and select your created "Default Pre Course" content from the drop-down list.

Step 6 - Click the Save button in the top right corner of the page to save the changes you made.

Step 7 - Click the Back option from the top of the left side panel. 

Step 8 - Click on the Courses option in the left side panel. It will take you to the course index page. 


Step 9 - Click the Add button in the top right corner of the page.

Step 10 - Click the Accredited option from the right side of the header. 

Step 11 - Your default pre course material will automatically be loaded to the newly created course. 


Step 12 - If you have made other pre course material, you can select a different one instead of the default one.


If you don't want any pre course material for this particular course, all you have to do is turn off the toggle button beside pre course material.


Step 13 - Click the Save as Draft or Publish button in the top right corner of the page, and it will pick up your default pre course material for this course if you didn't change it manually before.
