Brand Settings

Brand Settings is where you define your organisation's visual identity within Nimbu. From the login screen to the student learning portal, these controls let you apply your logo, colours, and backgrounds consistently across the platform to create a professional, cohesive experience that reflects your RTO's brand.

What's Covered in This Article

This article outlines the customisation options available to align Nimbu with your brand guidelines.

Logo and Brand Initial

The foundation of your brand presence starts with your core identifiers.

  • Organisation Logo: Upload a high-resolution logo to appear in the navigation sidebar and across the platform.
  • Brand Initial: Set a short character code (typically your organisation's initials) to display as a placeholder when the full logo is not shown.

Primary Colour and Font

These settings define the overarching aesthetic applied across all staff and student interfaces.

  • Primary Colour: Enter a hex code to set the main accent colour used for active buttons, links, and navigation highlights.
  • Font Selection: Choose a font that matches your style guide to ensure consistent typography throughout the platform.

Header Backgrounds

Customise the background that appears behind the top navigation bar. Three options are available:

  • Brand Colour: Uses your Primary Colour as the header background automatically.
  • Plain Colour: Select a custom colour independent of your primary brand colour.
  • Gradient: Enter a CSS gradient code to apply a custom gradient effect.

Login Page Backgrounds

Configure what users see when they sign in to the platform. Three options are available:

  • Image: Upload a background image to display on the login screen.
  • Colour: Apply a plain colour or gradient as the login background.
  • No Background: Leave the login page without a background, displaying the default plain style.

Student App Backgrounds

Set unique backgrounds for specific areas of the student learning portal to create a more engaging experience. The same three options apply to each — Image, Colour, or No Background:

  • Dashboard: The background displayed on the student's main home screen.
  • Class: The background shown when a student is viewing their class.
  • Unit: The background displayed when a student is working through a unit.

Define the legal footer text that appears across the platform.

  • Enter your official copyright statement in the copyright text field.
  • The field supports two dynamic placeholders that automatically populate with your organisation's details
    • {{RTO_NAME}}: Replaced with your organisation's name.
    • {{CURRENT_YEAR}}: Replaced with the current year.

Copyright text appears in the platform footer only. It is not applied to generated reports or exported documents.
